The architecture developed during the Antioquia migration (19th–20th centuries) facilitated the settlement of the central region of the Andes Mountain range in Colombia. The outcomes of this period were marked by the founding of various municipalities that are currently grouped within the Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia (CCLC), inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This article aims to examine the aesthetic configuration of an architecture that defines the identity of a territory, through the consolidation of constructive and architectural typologies. These typologies evolved because of coffee cultivation and its socio-economic impact on the region from the early 20th century onward. The proposed methodology involves developing a taxonomy to identify existing architectural typologies in relation to both extinct forms and new trends emerging in the 21st century. This classification will be based on criteria such as adaptability to the complex topography, climatic conditions of the mountainous environment, and the transformation of the natural landscape through human intervention. Through this approach, the article seeks to update and reassess prior research conducted extensively between the 1970s and 1990s, emphasizing the continuity of architectural and urban elements dating back to the 19th century, alongside new adaptations in materials and typological transformations.
