The aim of this paper is to establish a connection between different theoretical positions, in order to demonstrate how the design and use of the technological devices, with which we interact on a daily basis, is a direct consequence of the ideologies and cultural models with which we assign meaning to reality. Technology, from this perspective, thus emerges as a manifestation of value systems and cultural models that, through it, are concretely actualized in reality. The essay continues by investigating the manner in which this direct connection enables semiotics to contribute to the design of technological devices.
