This study presents the activities of the narrative workshop on “impossible selves” implemented in training programmes for healthcare professions, drawing upon the theoretical and methodological framework offered by the theory of “possible selves”. The analysis of the narratives highlighted how this approach can enable students to explore their implicit understandings and more consciously define their professional habitus, thereby better comprehending the values, aspirations, and fears that guide their choices and thus shaping their “professional world”.
