The present paper discusses the recent and topical problem of deception in Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. Deception in AI systems has emerged as a critical area of inquiry, fostered by the increasing use of AI in various domains, including security, finance, and healthcare. Through a review of current literature and some relevant case studies, we explore the ethical implications of deceptive practices, pondering both their potential benefits and risks.
