Paulino Oliveira Do Canto
Paulino Oliveira do Canto holds a Master’s Degree in African Regional Integration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences strand Political Science from the University of Cabo Verde. Researcher and consultant in the project “Recognize and Change” (EuropeAid CSO-LA/2017/388-053), from the European Union with partnership the Praia City Council.
Actually, he holds the position of National Coordinator of the economic empowerment and political participation project of the Cape Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equality. Land Monitor / Analyst for the ECOWAR platform - ECOWAS Early Warning and Prevention System; Worked as a volunteer Teacher and Rapporteur for the Government of Cabo Verde at the IV World Forum on Local Economic Development and for the Private Media Association of Cabo Verde. Participated in several research and consultancy projects with national and international institutions. In terms of professional training and research, he represented the University of Cabo Verde and his country in national and international conferences in countries such as Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Canaries and Romania. Author of some reference articles in renowned journals and two dissertations: “West African immigrants, employment and housing: a policy of / and coherent integration(s) in Cabo Verde?” and “Mobility, Borders and Regional Integration: free movement of people in the Economic Community of West African States? The case of Cabo Verde”. Anyway, he is investigator in the area migrations / mobility’s and regional integration in West Africa.
