The President of Slovakia, despite limited formal powers, plays a crucial role in constitutional dynamics through moral suasion, public advocacy, and crisis mediation. The Slovak case highlights the challenges associated with the dual executive character of the Slovak Constitution. While the President can act as a constitutional guardian, the risk of politicization remains high. The evolving relationship between the President and Parliament underscores ongoing tensions in maintaining institutional balance and democratic stability. From a broader theoretical perspective, the Slovak case suggests that when constitutional amendment procedures remain highly accessible and judicial constraints are contested, democratic resilience increasingly depends on informal safeguards and institutional self restraint.
