This paper examines the phonetic, rhythmic, and rhetorical characteristics of incorrect responses given by young people (aged 11-25) when prompted to complete well-known and widely circulated proverbs. The results offer insights, from an educational perspective, into the depth of younger generations’ familiarity with proverbs and propose experimental classroom activities designed to enhance and consolidate lexical, textual, and metalinguistic skills.
