This study examines the path of human resource management software (HRMS) research undertaken by researchers. The objective of this study is to learn about: (a) The distribution and research links concerning HRMS (human resource management software) in the last 11 years (2012–2023); (b) The degree of efficiency, effectiveness, ethics, and environmental constraint of HRMS systems in the current scenario; and (c) The distribution map and international publishing of HRMS research based on keywords. Data is gathered by running a data search on Dimensions using the keywords “HR Software” OR “Human resource software” OR “HRMS” OR “EHRM” with the category, paper title, abstracts, and keywords over the last eleven years’ (2012-2023). The data selection is exclusively based on published studies in the fields of Commerce, Management, Tourism and Services, Strategy, Management and Organizational Behaviors, Information and Computing Sciences, Human Resources and Industrial Relations, Business Systems in Context, Information. After that, the data isexported in CSV (comma– separated values) format.
The trend of the progress of international publications in the HRMS field is analyzed using VosViewer software. The research results show that the development of the efficiency and effectiveness of the software system field in 2012-2023 indexed by Dimensions has the highest occurrence in 2021, which reached publications (20%). The International publication of the HRMS field is mostly published by The International Journal of Human resource management, while the most productive & most cited author in HRMS is Marler, Janet H. (University at Albany, State University of New York); Fisher, Sandra L. (Clarkson University)
