The Article examines practice and action of the un Security Council in addressing the health emergencies of hiv/aids in Africa, outbreak of Ebola in Western African States and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and global pandemic of Covid-19. Main issues discussed in debates and meetings of the Council as well as the content of the six resolutions adopted to tackle the three health emergencies are reviewed. Finally, the Article focuses on which might be the most appropriate legal and political framework between Chapter vi and vii of the un Charter to address regional or global health emergencies in the future.
