Prima collana italiana dedicata alla Ricerca Artistica accademica, nasce con l’intento di divulgare le linee internazionali di pensiero e azione in materia e di disseminare i contenuti italiani più ragguardevoli che stanno emergendo in questo ambito, divenuto, dal 2024, oggetto di ricerca dottorale anche nell’Alta Formazione Artistica e Musicale. Si tratta di un campo di ricerca sperimentale riconosciuto ormai da un quarto di secolo, ma che è assolutamente nuovo e ancora poco noto nel nostro Paese: l’artista ricercatore - da solo o in team - fa della sua stessa pratica artistica un oggetto di studio, da cui distillare nuova conoscenza, in un intreccio serrato tra processo creativo, analisi, produzione artistica e nuova riflessione. Il canto dell’arte - da cui si leva la voce di questo nuovo sapere - è tuttavia inscindibilmente legato alla sua discorsività, come una pianta rampicante al proprio muro maestro, perché l’atto di una organica verbalizzazione attraverso la scrittura (sebbene rizomatico, nella fusione di modalità comunicative classiche e creative) è a sua volta un atto di ricerca, viatico alla diffusione di queste nuove forme di sapere germogliate dall’arte e dalla sua pratica.

The first Italian series dedicated to academic artistic research in music, it has been created with the aim of disseminating international approaches in this field through their theoretical thought and their practical activities and with the aim of spreading the most notable emerging Italian research projects, as, since 2024, Artistic Research has also become the subject of Doctoral Research in Higher Italian Education in the Arts and in Music. This new, practice-based academic field has been existing since the beginning of the XXI century, but is still brand new and little-known in Italy: artists as academic researchers - alone or in a team - treat their own artistic practice as an object of study, from which to distill new knowledge, in a close intertwining of creative process, analysis, artistic production, and new reflection. The “song” (in italian: “canto”) of art - from which the voice of this new knowledge rises - is, however, inextricably linked to discursivity, like a creeper to its supporting wall, because the act of organic verbalization (although rhizomatic, merging classical and creative modes of communication) is itself an act of research, a catalyst for the dissemination of these new forms of knowledge, born from music and its practice.
