The aim of this study is to map out the scientific research of Albania. We accomplish this aim by analyzing the publications on Scopus database of Albanian scholars. Furthermore, various bibliometric analysis such as performance analysis and keyword co–occurrence analysis are conducted.
The research has identified three main areas on which the majority of Albanian scholars are focused. The first area is medical research, more specifically on public health and epidemiology. Economic studies, with a focus on labor studies and agriculture specifically, make up the second main topic area, while environmental studies comprise of the third one.
