The Italian political system has gone through a long phase of deep changes, which started in the nineties years and it’s not yet over. The political system is afflicted by a series of pathologies that created: blockage, instability and uncertainty. An attempt has been made to respond to these problems with a reform of the electoral system. The lack of stabilization and the continuous change of governments have pushed some critics to develop different solutions such as the introduction of the premiership system. Academics like Sartori and Volpi found different solutions to the problem of refusing the idea of premiership in Italy. Sartori and Volpi think that the best solution is situated in the political system and not in the legal sphere, any attempt to change the form of government in Italy could lead to major problems.
