The essay focuses on the principle of insularity introduced in 2022 in article 119 of the Italian Constitution Following an analysis of the concept of island attention is drawn to the structural disadvantages faced by island territories as well as the measures already adopted and those still needed to eliminate substantive inequalities among the territories of the Republic.
