The novel La bambina sputafuoco by Giulia Binando Melis fits within the framework of Narrative Medicine, an interdisciplinary field that intertwines autopathographic writing and children’s literature. Through the voice of a sick child, the work symbolically re-elaborates the clinical experience, restoring to narrative a therapeutic, educational, and humanizing function capable of giving meaning to illness and the care relationship.
