The article suggests a source of fairy tale narration as a cure in the English literary fairy tale movement of the Victorian Age. In particular, with the writer George MacDonald and the novel Adela Cathcart (1864) in which the fairy tale The Light Princess is read and performed. The fictional situation of the storytelling club provides insights into the healing power of the fairy tale.
