This article explores the phenomenon of the defiguration in the short stories of Irène Némirovsky. Based on the hypothesis that the short form encourages a stylization of discourse grounded in the manipulation of fixed expressions, the study shows how their alteration contributes to the emergence of a distinctive literary voice. Through the analysis of four emblematic cases, the article examines the narrative, stylistic, and intercultural functions of these transformations, highlighting defiguration as a genuine writing tool. Far from being a mere linguistic play, this process emerges as a marker of an aesthetic unique to Némirovsky as a storyteller.
