The paper, beginning with some preliminary considerations on sorrow and death in our society, explores the role of children’s literature as a tool for dealing these issues with its readers. Analysing some significant books, it highlights how stories can offer a safe space to understand and process complex emotions, thereby supporting the process of adaptation and emotional growth.
