This contribution accounts for the potential of the picture book as a stimulus tool in focus groups aimed at adults, specifically mothers who experience detention with their children. Within the CAMBIARE project, the picture book has become pivotal to the reflective, re-elaborative, and growth processes that can unite mothers and children in complex situations such as incarceration, which breaks the secure threads of routines.
