This contribution presents a pilot research project conducted in a mountain school, which integrates children’s literature with reading sessions assisted by dogs. The project draws on recent research highlighting the beneficial effects of this approach, not only on reading skills but also on children’s overall development and psychophysical well-being. From this perspective, our work is situated within a broader educational framework that promotes care as a fundamental pedagogical principle.
