In contemporary complex societies characterised by pervasive inequalities and systemic crises, bell hooks’ pedagogical framework offers crucial tools to promote inclusive and transformative education. Grounded in the principles of freedom, intersectionality and decolonisation of knowledge, his approach fundamentally redefines the role of schooling as a nexus for social justice, dialogue and care. This contribution examines the relevance and practical applications of hooks’ pedagogy, proposing insights for an educational paradigm shift centred on equity, pedagogical care, social and political participation.
