The contribution proposes a pedagogical reflection on infanticide in antiquity and Greek mythology, starting from the myth of Medea, to explore the educational and symbolic meanings linked to motherhood, parenthood and the recognition of the minor as a subject of law. Through a historical-critical approach and a pedagogical rereading of the myth, the article intends to investigate the educational function of tragic narration and promote a comparison with contemporary educational challenges linked to the prevention of psychosocial distress.
