The paper focuses on the connection between the environment and the protection of human rights. The advent of COVID-19 has contributed to strengthening awareness of the irreversible environmental consequences resulting from economic development. In fact, according to scientists, the genesis of the pandemic can be traced back to ecological causes. The objective of this work is to contribute to a reflection on the systemic repercussions of climate change. In particular, the creation of new forms of power and inequality will be explored, as well as new forms of cooperation, solidarity and assistance that go beyond national borders.
